WHAT IS CBD AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a phytocannabinoid found in cannabis and/ or agricultural hemp and comprises up to 40% of the hemp plant. It is recognized for its benefits on human and animal health and is capable of affecting nearly every biological process via the endocannabinoid system.

According to the US Government, cannabidiol is “…devoid of psychoactive effect.” After THC (9-tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is by far the most studied natural cannabinoid. Additionally, CBD is increasingly the subject of advanced medical research and may be the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered.

CAN CBD GET ME "HIGH"?

No! CBD is a phytocannabinoid that it is a non-psychotoxic and has a remarkable safety profile.

IS IT ILLEGAL TO SELL HEMP-DERIVED PRODUCTS?

Products that are manufactured from agricultural hemp, which contains less than 0.3% THC, are exempt from the Federal Controlled Substances Act, therefore are currently not unlawful for distribution. However, there are four states (ID, SD, IA, NE) and some countries that have certain restrictions. Double check your state laws, or country laws, if you are outside the US.

IS THIS MEDICAL CANNABIS AND DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S RECOMMENDATION?

Because CBD is not psychoactive, a doctor’s recommendation is not necessary, however, we do advise you to consult your physician to be sure CBD is appropriate for you.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE PER DAY?

Sensitivities vary from person to person. Discretion is advised by and for each individual, based on experiential preference. We suggest that you purchase the 600mg bottle and then use the graduated droppers to determine what strength you feel.  Since it is the middle strength we offer, it is easy to take a little more or a little less depending on your experience. However, as a loose guideline, 5-20 mg per dose and anywhere from 10-200 mg per day is recommended.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TAKING CBD?

We encourage you to do your own research, consult doctors, and PubMed.gov as a resource for articles coming out in real time. More research is being done to provide structure/ function claims associated with taking CBD. We encourage you to talk to your doctor first before starting any new nutritional and dietary supplement regimen.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA?

Agricultural hemp has tall, bamboo like, thick stocks, very thin leaves, and little to no flowers. Defined as a cannabis plant containing less than 0.3% THC, hemp is grown mainly to make textiles, food & oils, and does not get you "high". Growing agricultural hemp has less restrictions than marijuana, which allows to be grown in largest scales and outdoors.

Marijuana plants tend to be shorter plants and are grown for their flowers. The THC content is higher in these plants and is mainly used recreationally, however, some states have legislation in place to allow marijuana for medical use with a recommendation from a doctor. Because of the restrictions regarding marijuana, growing these plants can be extremely difficult and leave enormous carbon footprint, depending on the growing practices.

IS CBD AND THC THE SAME THING?

No, they are different compounds. CBD and THC are both cannabinoids, but THC produces psychoactive effects causing a drugged symptom commonly known as a “high”. Although all CBD extractions will contain some THC, our CBD hemp plants are selected, cultivated, and processed to eliminate all THC content and are therefore devoid of any psychoactive effects.

I HEARD CBD FROM HEMP ISN'T AS POTENT AS CBD FROM MARIJUAN. IS THIS TRUE?

No. CBD is CBD, it does not matter where is is sourced from. The human body does not recognize whether a CBD compound was sourced from agricultural hemp or medical cannabis flower - all of the body's biologic activity, interaction with various enzymes, and receptors specific to CBD remain the same.

WHAT IS SUPERCRITICAL CO2 EXTRACTION AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Supercritical CO2 is a form of extraction that is used for many extracts.  USP Grade Liquid CO2 is heated with increased pressure, which gives it the properties of a liquid and a gas, helping it go through the hemp as well as extract the product from it.  We prefer it because it is the only solvent free method of extraction currently.
